Stoker costs?
Somewhere between $800 and $1000
A stroker on a stock motor is a waste IMO. (assuming you have a stocker)
Either way you should plan on a good set of heads/intake manifold/carb/headers ect BEFORE concidering stroking.

They will be about the same. I would consider replacing the cam and going with after market aluminum head. You will be more than pleased. The stock heads are too retsrictive and will hold back the horse power. In fact I would not stroke an engine unless I put heads on it.
i just aborted my 347 build do to cost. was gonna cost me anywhere from 3 to 4 grand after i would have been done. if you have the money its kinda a toss up. say you buy heads now, and then do a stroker kit, the heads wont work 100% for the smaller cube. depending on how extreme you go of course.
It really depends on how strong you want the package to be. My 383W stroker project came in around $8k. Good heads, forged rotating assembly, ARP bolts, good intake, and an aftermarket block/strengthening the stock block can be expensive. You can always just throw a long stroke crank in a motor, but you will probably not get the performance or the life out of it that you will expect.
