Default 1966 Ford Mustang Engine stalling

hello guys! Happy new year to everyone! i am new here! i have purchased a 1966 ford mustang v8 with automatic transmission. i went to a mechanic yesterday to have the heater fix. they changed the thermostat and the upper hose. and told me that i need to get a heater/blower resistor on my own because they dont have it in stock. they were able to fix the heater though. however, after i drove the car off the shop the gear was on drive and i applied acceleration from a complete stop and the car just stopped in the middle of the road. i was able to start the engine again. i drove the car around and did some test. when the car comes from a complete stop 2 things happend 1. the car would stop after i press the accelerator 2. the engine stalls like its struggling for some power. what can i do? or what could be the problem? please help

Could be a problem with fuel or ignition, no way to tell from your description. I'm leaning toward ignition, though. You'll need to check dwell and timing. It would also be a good idea to check if the accelerator jets in the carb are pumping.

Do you have the factory service manual? If not, get one.

Was it cold out?

When I was having a choke problem with mine I could let it warm for 10 minutes at idle in the garage and it would still stall out on me several times just trying to get it out of the garage then it would take forever to warm up to normal operating temp...

It could also likely be a problem with the carb (other than the choke) or the timing.
