I read that it was your first motor and you started it up an let it idle right away. I freaked thinking that you were wiping out the cam and lifters. THEN I saw that it is a roller cam, so no harm done.
Pretty impressive first engine. My first was a 48 Chevy that I heard run for the first time in about 1962 at the age of 13. I'll NEVER forget the pride I felt when I heard it run.
Great job! Go enjoy it.

i don't like to post the following as it might give you an idea about what botch works i;'m doing ... but maybe it helps you.
I didn't chase the threads for the headbolts before putting the heads on on a 66 289. i was unable to torque it. Lets say I did all bolts with 30ftlbs, then i do one with 50 and the next one is already at 50 without me even turning the bolt. i verified that with two torque spanners. In the end the torque settings were correct but the bolts still loose. that caused the same as you had. it was raining out of one side of the block. So I just got a huge extension and torqued them all to ellbow feel. The fella is still driving no problem. Don't get me wrong. We did the work for him for free, I just sold him my old block. But we were lucky. so long story short, it might just be a head bolt on the side not being tight enough. best of luck finding it. The UV lamp is a good idea. just get it as dry as you can with papertowels, then you should see
