That could be a contributing factor. I have had valve issues since day one. i will loo a little further into it.

Any luck on getting that balance sheet?

On my old LT1 Camaro, I put a twin disk clutch in it behind a built 383 that was internally balanced, and I had left the (removable) balancing weight on it accidentally. It felt fine until around 1800 rpm's then it felt like it wanted to tear itself apart. When I figured out the problem it was a simple fix of taking the weight off and it felt great.

Im going to guess that they balanced your for a 50oz and your running the 20oz or vice versa or they just all together screwed up balancing your rotating assembly.

So i talked to the guy that owns the shop that built my engine. I asked him if when doing the balancing if the flywheel and the harmonic balancer need to be connected to the crank and he said absolutly. well i was there while it was being balanced and the flywheel was on the floor and the balncer was at my house. SO this proves that it was not done correctly.
I mentioned that they never even had the balancer and never asked for it. He then asked me for the blance sheet and i asked him for it because i never got one.

He told me to bring the car in and he will completly remove the engine tear it apart and start over. this includes redoing the valve job because they ****ed it up too.

At least he is standing behind it "again"

That is excellent news.

Its nice to see an engine shop stand behind their work. Glad your getting it corrected. Hopefully this will fix all your issues.

Keep us updated!

I hope it works out too. I am wondering how much material they had to take off the crank when they originally did it and if it will need to be added on or not.

If not i might as well build a 331 if they need to replace the crank! right?

HAHA... Wishful thinking as its easy to add weight with Mallory...

Chances are though he will just have to balance the flywheel and balancer to the rotating assembly.
