Default question about swaps

hello everyone ok i have a question i am starting to do some reasearch on a future project heres what i want to do i want to get a clasic mustang coupe or fastback and swap in an 03 cobra engine and do a resto mod on it this is something that i know will take a lot of time and some money but that is what i need- something mi can clear my head from the week and hit the garage. so heres is some of the things i need to know what year would be the best to swap the enginge with posible turbos on it also (saw it in a mag lol ) without needing to change alot of the suspension changes i know some will be needed. i know with a 65 you need to take out the strut towers and change everything over. just looking for -everyones input i\thanks and i look forward to your input

You know about the biggest hurdle: the towers. You have an opportunity to get modern brakes and steering along with the motor in one fell swoop.

If I could offer a bit of advice, get a shop manual for whatever year mod motor you get. If you buy a donor car, when you pull out the wiring harness, label EVERYTHING. I installed an EFI motor in my 65 and I wish I had spent more time in the donor car labeling the harness. Also, get the most complete wiring diagram you can find.

Why use a mod motor its kinda a fad to most of us.Just to get the engine in the car and driving your looking a good 5k or more plus the price of the engine trans. To turbo it there is no bolt on kits so your stuck making everything or paying someone. So add on another 3k up.Or get a 5.0 really cheap rebuild it and use a procharger get same power cheaper. And it will bolt in the car no cutting.
