Default 1968 Mustang Sprint

Alright guys.. I found a new idea. I am currently getting a fair tax return and still haven't decided to either A: Buy a single turbo kit NOW for my 2000 Mustang GT, or B: buy a 1968ish mustang and rebuild it.

I found a 1968 Mustang Sprint for 5K and it seems to be in a very fair condition. I haven't decided on the motor and transmission yet but I have several questions about this car. Is it a good place to start? My plans are to have a v8 in here with a nice manual transmission. Hate me all you want but i really cannot decide weather i want a 5.0L or an LS motor in the car. My best friend has an LS1 with transmission that he is willing to sell me for a crazy cheap that would make most gasp. I want this car to be nasty on the motor then add a nice shot of nitrous. This is going to be a 10K budget car including the car. That means i have 5K to spend if I decided to get this car. Are there other mustangs that i should start with instead?

This car will be a nice project weekend car that can tear up the roads when needed. Help me decide!

Thanks!

I think you'll have more fun with the 68. Just drop a 5.0 or 5.8 in it with a T5 or AOD.

I have nothing against GM, but I can't stand cross breeding. If you like chevy motors then get a Camaro or Firebird.

I'm not a big fan of hybrids either but for a budget build it's not a bad idea. Another thing is that it already has a 302 in there. I'll post pictures in a second.
