So long as it fits in the housing it should work fine, it won't hurt the car. If it worked before it should work now, assuming everything else is the same.

If you knew the application the clutch came from it would open up the possibilities on the diaphragm clutch.

Do a search on the part number of the pressure plate to try and find the application and then go from there.
