Default Trunk lid HELP!!!

Hey guys/gals,
I need your advice and expertise. I was trying to make the tension on my trunk torsion bars stronger. Here's the kicker, I got it off and can't get it back on. Is there a special tool that I need or what. Trying to get this fixed ASAP, as I'm going to my first car show in a couple of days. Thanx in advance.
It's a 67 289 coupe if that helps.

Judgin' by ya avatar, I'd say ya got more problems then your trunk lid. Just kiddin. I actually laughed at it the frist time I saw it. oh ya your lid....
But I do think you may have a bigger problem. I'm gonna guess the holes for the trunk lid don't match up with the mounts for it?
If so sounds like your body flexed after ya took the lid off, like the lid was holding the car together. I'd be careful hopefully tommarow someone will be able to help ya out more. I really don't know what to tell ya sept with the trunk lid off don't open both doors at the same time, you might have two motorcycles if ya do that.

Jinxed, thanks for the help, but I didn't take off the trunk lid. The tie rods in the trunk that hold the trunk lid open are the issue. I can't seem to get one back on. That is my problem. I was wondering if I needed to do anything tricky or special to get it back into place.

The 69 had a special tool, but I can't seem to find it online anywhere. Seems like a good screwdriver should bend it back in place. Maybe you need to do it with the back seat down and the trunk closed (just a wild guess, not a fact)

Mark, if you do find the tool pls let me know. A screw driver will slip off, due to the high tension. If the trunk is closed there seems to be more tension than having the trunk lid open. Damn, I hope to figure something out soon or I'm screwed. Thanks for trying though.
