buy it. You could allways keep the trans and sell the motor again for the same price or a little less. Thats what I did. 93 5.0 and aod for $300. kept the aod, starter, and alternator and sold the engine for $350

The 5.0 will fit in your 69. The 69 has more space than my 65 and I fit a 95GT 5.0 in with a 1/2 inch to spare.

With the appropriate bellhousing and trans crossmember, this combo will fit your 69 as though it were original equipment.

This is a great swap for a Mustang. I noticed you said it was missing the harness.
Whatever you do don't swap to a carb. The EFI motors are to high compression and the cam profiles are all wrong for carbs. You will wind up setting your timing to low to keep from detonating and have no low end power, or running premium fuel all the time. I have seen this done several times and it just doesn't work out right. Stick with the EFI setup. The ECU can set the timing and adjust the fuel to get the most out of that camshaft and heads. Its not that hard and you will be glad you did.

I swapped a 91 gt mustang in and went with a carb and I haven't had any problems to date. Although, I will admit I am running a highly modified carb that is more than likely a little rich. I always run premium or midgrade. I have 1000 miles and it works well for me.

That's my point. You can run EFI without running rich or running premium all the time. If your goal is a daily driver that's easy to live with EFI is the way to go.
