Default 351 Question`

I just picked up a running 351C the block code is D2AE-CA which shows it is a 4V motor, question is that is all factory and has a 2 barrel intake on it and the heads have the #2 stamped on the upper rear corner... I dont know much about 351C's so can someone help me out on this pleae ! It was sold as a 351 C V2 to me, do you think someone swapped out the heads and intake or was this common for ford to do? Thanks

From what I've gathered in previous posts the 2v heads are much better for street torque at low rpms due to the smaller ports, where the huge ports of the 4v are good for top high rpm horsepower.

My car has the 2v heads with a 4v intake and carb.

As to speculating if ford did it or the owner, I'm not going there :-P

The D2AE-CA could be fitted with either 2 bolt or 4 bolt main caps, so it is perfectly possible for your D2AE-CA to be an original 2V engine.

+1 on the above.
Also not sure the blocks were different with either 2v or 4v heads, especially towards the end of the Cleveland run. As long as the intake and exhaust manifolds are correct for the heads (matching port sizes), you are good to go.

The 351C blocks were the same, all cast with the ability to have 4 bolt mains. Same bulkhead.

Couldnt find an exact # for cylinder PSI, I think I have seen around 120 to 160. But the Lowest PSI shoud be no less than 75% of the highest.

Im sure 2+2 could post a #, he is a genius and has helped me numerous times!
