Default 66 mustang engine

I just bought a 66 fastback and need to rebuild / replace the engine. Can someone point me to a resource that might help me research options?

Thanks

What do you want to do? build it back to stock? upgrade it? go with a different motor? Fuel inject it? Check out the FAQs

A lot has to do with your skills, your available time and funds. There are a million options.

Also remember when you are looking at new motors/upgrades, etc, that if you decide to boost the HP a lot, there are a lot of things you'll have to upgrade as well...Trans, brakes, rear end to name a few. How much are you REALLY willing to spend?

The 66 289 can be rebuilt, and easy upgrades will make what you have scary powerful, no need to go all exotic.

I'm in Montana, I decided on a roller cam 302. I'm keeping the original engine in case I want to restore the car to stock at some time. The aluminum C4 is being rebuilt too.

Thanks

I have a 1966 with an I6 200. I have an engine builder who will be putting in a 302 that he is building. The price will be $3,000 for the engine build and install. I'll need to do several other things since it is a 6.
