started real work on the 66
well me and my friend Vince got the garage cleaned up in anticipation of real work being done the the 66.

then started the work...grinding down the radiator support. luckily mostly surface rust with a bit of pitting. nothing wire wheels and 3m rust/paint removal wheels couldnt take care of. clean it up with prep spray then hit the pitted areas with rust converter just to make sure we got it all. tomorrow ill hit it with self-etching primer and move on to the next area. hoping to slowly get the complete engine bay done this way (suspension will be coming off the front soon)

got a question for you guys, is the trunk supposed to be completely sealed? i was surprised to look at the sides and see straight down to the inside quarter panels (which have light surface rust!)and ground. am i missing some panels or is there another way to seal the trunk?

excellent i just happen to look and see pavement and was a little confused...lol. seems weird to have a trunk thats open to the elements. so ill just scrape, wheel, prime, paint, and bedline the quarters and call it good. and ill look for the masonite board for the left.
You need to post some pics of that so we can see what you are talking about. You should not be able to see pavement from inside the trunk. And take those twisted up front bumper brackets off before you tear up a knee, ask me how I learned that lesson.
lol yeah those brackets will be coming off soon so i can wheel down those frame rails. 67t5 ill add some pics tomorrow, i can't see evidence of a panel needed down there but who knows on these cars.
