Default Small problem need a little help.

So i changed the alternater belt the other day because it would always squeal and whine when it got wet or when it was cold out, tightened it now no problem. But since then every now and again my engine will just shut off.

Sometimes it will start and run for about 20 seconds then shut off, then wont start, and I end up flooding it. Then it will run until I turn it off... I really don't know what is happening,

I figured maybe I overtightened the belt but I loosened it up yesterday and I still get the problem.

Do you have an electric choke that came unplugged? Check to see if it still has spark when it won't fire.

Check the solenoid an see if the wires are loose, and check the wires at the voltage regulator, check the ground wire on the block also ckeck the wires on your coil also and see if any of them are loose

well all in all it's nothing to do with a new belt. maybe you pulled or wiggled an ignition wire while you changed it. Check that all electronic connectors are tight. maybe one of the wires at coil is only clamped in half.

As previously states check to make sure you have no loose wires or grounds. Also check your battery connections as well.
