Default toploader

Got a toploader kit. I'm very confused. No cooling lines? No clutch cable? Am I missing stuff here? Also is it true that there is just a hole you punch out on the 67's firewall that you put the pedal through? Lastly, the block plate I got looks different from ones online, it looks like half of it, and it wasn't cut.

Please let me know, all imformation would be a great help!

What kit? Toploaders have no external cooling provisions, and the OE setup uses mechanical linkage, not a cable.

+1 No cooling lines, and it was a mechanical clutch set up.

Ok. Its off a 67 mustang and I'm putting it into a 67 also. I got some springs, one huge one and a few smaller ones. What about the block plate looking like its half of the ones online? And the hole punch out?

There's a hole in the block plate for the starter. Unless we can see a pic, it's going to be hard to identify anything wrong with it.

The short, thick spring is an over-center assist spring designed to go under the dash. If you're using a modern diaphragm-style clutch, leave this spring out. Diaphragm clutches require much less pedal effort than the OE long-style (3 fingers) clutch and don't require any spring assist. Leaving the spring installed will result in a weird snappy pedal feel and may possibly leave the clutch on the floor during high-rpm shifts.

The other springs are return springs for the linkage.

No cooler on manual trans.

Mustangs had pushrod clutch, not cable. All the 64-73 pushrods are available. For a 67, every scrap of the whole setup is available new.

You need to hole saw a spot for the pedal pushrod. Be extremely careful not to make it too large. There is a round accordion-style seal for this hole.

The rear engine cover for the manual trans goes from the top of the engine to the bottom of the bellhousing. Sounds like you have the auto trans cover.

You seem to be missing the upper spring to firewall bracket, and the lower pushrod. You should really get all new nylon bushings, too. You also seem to be missing the under-dash assist spring, bracket, and bushings. You can't do this without them.

That's definately the auto trans engine cover.
