If you are going to run one, DO NOT get one of the cheap ones!!!! I got one off ebay for around 80 bucks, it was new but the material they used wasn't strong enough or the dimensions were off. I ran it for a few months just cruising it till everything was broken in. Well, finally jumped on it an I guess a couple 7K revs was too much. The dual idler brackets had twisted. Thank God nothing happened to the engine..... I now have a Comp Cams one in it and its great.

Timing gears are extremely noisy and completely unneeded unless you're turning insane rpm.

ya. i hope that's a misunderstanding. Just get a cloyes dual. that's what i used and should be plenty good. don't use a gearset, use a chainset

One of the guys on another forum ran one in his stroker...and it blew up. One of the circlips holding on an idler gear worked loose, which tore everything apart. This was an Edelbrock unit, iirc.

Use a good Cloyes double roller set and you'll be fine.
