I really have no idea if its bad or not. My intake is the 8011, but it has a crack that leaks water and I've cut into it some to make my distributor fit. Which is why I bought a new intake and distributor.

Also I will be trying to get a pair of GT40 heads next week.

I have a stock HO cam sitting in my old motor I am going to use.

I paid $54 for the distributor, just need to get a coil for it now.

Here is what I found for our question!

"Except it doesn't work, and is entirely useless. Coolant gets pumped through the block around the cylinders and comes up into the heads at the back, where it's pumped forward through the heads and out the front of the intake. With the crossover in the back the coolant on each side is coming from up out of the block, and in that crossover it has nowhere to go. So it doesn't get pumped in any direction and just stagnates and becomes a possible source of leaking, plus the coolant in that area tends to overheat since it can't circulate.

That's why the aftermarket intakes have no rear coolant crossover."

That explains why my temp gauge would always jump up when I would just be sitting. My sensor is in the rear crossover.

And the car is my DD so it doesn't really need a bigger cam. I am just doing this stuff to give it a little more punch. Just in case someone wants to mess with me. 2 of my friends have fox bodies with mildly modded 302s. One of them is nearly identical mod wise to mine.

He has a 302, aftermarket intake, Holley 600 cfm carb, and long tubes.
I have 302, aftermarket intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, and mid-length headers.

His is a flat tappet HO as well if I remember right, and soon mine will be an HO again.

We have talked about going to the local drag strip and seeing what they will do.

And hopefully this distributor works well. The one I currently have came from them and has worked well, its was $35. But my dad mentioned that over on the old truck forums they hate the company that makes them and doesn't buy them.
