It came apart at low RPM, I had just turned the corner to get into the parking lot and was giving it a little gas. So maybe 1500 RPM maybe little more

Well I will be pulling it out on Monday to see if I get good news or bad news.

For me good news in this case would be it didn't hurt the block and I just need a rod and crankshaft. Bad news for me would be the block is trashed and I have to buy a new block or engine.

I took this pic a few days before the engine went. I think some fender flares and wider rims and it would look sick.

That's a cool pic, crop it down to get the shopping baskets out the pic and it would look Road Warriorish, like there are no other cars running anymore but yours.

Holy crap, that sucks Bud! Do you suppose something wasn't torqued properly?

Cool picture. Your car has a great stance. I say no on the fender flares etc. Thats a great way to ruin a Mustang.

Yeah the mechanic thinks the rods weren't torqued right. Said it was possible they didn't get seated so when they did, the nuts were loose.

Or,,, the rod bolt simply failed.... it happens sometimes.

If I am building an engine I give a **** about, or have real money in, I usually change the bolts.
