Speedo cable issue
greetings European ... ;-)
had the same with mine (i have the long type speedo) and it's either
- not lubricated
- wrong cable routing (to harsh a bend)
- wrecked speedo cable
check the routing first, if that's ok unplug it from speedo, pour some lubricant in there. i just used spray oil in there and shove it back in. if all that doesn't help try a new cable and route it as 'flat' as possible

Hey kalli,
Cheers, I hope it the lube, it only started doing it after I replace the turn signal lamp, so I will take out the cluster and re-assembly with extra lube!

yea same thing i was going to mention. spray some wd40 or any other lube down into the shaft and it will spin freely. but after what you said about doing the turn signals and now it bounces around indicated either you put it back incorrectly or maybe its not "seated" properly in the back of the dash. but spraying some oil on it also will only help.
From experience. I replaced the cable, no improvement, I replaced the speedometer, no improvement. I noticed wear on the speedo gear in the transmission so replaced it, problem solved. However, it bounces around at high speed now!
