Well, the car is still at the shop, as it needs to be buffed, and since I'm still not home yet, we're just gonna have them reinstall everything so my wife can put some miles on the new motor till I come home... I hate having to baby a new motor and can't wait to open her up, so this way I can do so as soon as I come home.

Default More pictures... Partially assembled

My wife sent me a bunch of new pictures last night... The car is now buffed and reassembly is well under way. The bumpers, taillights, door handles, trunk lock, rear windows, one headlight assembly and some of the interior are all back in! It SHOULD be done by Friday afternoon! My wife will check in on it again today and hopefully pick it up tomorrow!
I really can't wait to get home now! She was going to start it up yesterday but the gas in the tank was about 5 months old, so she wisely decided to empty it out and will bring some fresh stuff today.
The car has shop dust all over it and the wheels are not back on yet, so use your imagination...

Yeah, hopefully it will be done this afternoon for the wife to pick up... They just have to put the glass in now. The funky thing around the gas cap was a dealer option... Can't remember what the exact name is, but it's kinda cool... prevents you from scratching the hell outta the surrounding paint. It's pretty cheap as I recall and just sticks on with double sided tape, underneath the filler neck. I'll try to remember the name and where I got it...

Ok, after a bunch of searching, my wife finally found it... it is called a fuel cap guard... Though I have not had good luck with mustangs unlimited in the past, it is the only place I could find them. http://mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=5388A+01 .

Thats interesting. I don't think I have ever seen that before. I cant decide if I like it or not.

What problem did you have with MU? I never had any issues with them.

Well the shop couldn't get the glass guy out so the winshield and back window still aren't in... Monday I am told.. Also, my wife forgot to bring the wheels so it still has the hideous painting wheels on... But it looks good! Interior pretty much done, grille back together, lights in, bumpers, etc... Although I noticed the rear bumper looks uneven. Gonna have them fix that.

I've posted before about the problems I had with MU... They sold me some wheel adapters that were defective (stud spinning) that resulted in a ruined wheel and then gave me crap about getting my money back. Not like I askd for them to pay for the ruined wheel or the labor cost of having the nut busted off... Customer service was lacking.

We are taking ours to the MCA Grand National in Bellevue, WA in July... I think we will only have time to do the Pony Trails because we are going to CA for a bit, then driving across the country to NC, by way of the Grand Canyon (supporting AZ economy...). We haven't yet decided if we are going to take the car with us (towed) or if we will leave it home to have the GT stripes, side scoops, badges, etc put back on... We don't want to drive that far with no A/C and original seats in the Summer with 2 whiney kids. We also would need to buy a flatbed or car hauler.
