Painted! Finally!
Well after a year and the second paint job at a second paint shop, she's finally done right... 4 base coats and 3 clear... Dark blue pearl mettalic. She still needs to be put back together (chrome, badging, lights, glass, etc) but she is finally in paint! New fenders, doors, quarters, wheel houses, rear frame sections, tail light panel... I could probably register it as a 2010 model!
Very nice!. Looks like a smooth paint job. Should really pop with the chrome back on. It will be tempting to rush putting it back together. That's what happened to me. Ended up chipping a little piece where the back fender extension fits. Take your time.
I'm glad you finally got paint. After all the BS, I bet your happy now. That color looks great. Here is mine in caspian blue to give you even more incentive to get all the trim back on. But I agree take your time don't rush it.

Looks great! Can't wait to see it complete and outside in the sunlight. Glad it finally started to work out for you and your wife as I remember the ordeal you both went through. Now.. just so you know.. You WILL scratch, chip or rub the paint at some point between now and when its fully reassembled! I'm just saying this so you know up front.
Most paint shops realize this and know you'll be back for a few touch-ups once its back together. Very few will charge you for these fixes and if they do they are being petty. Something else.. post up a sheet of paper and during reassembly write down any of the runs, sags, etc that the shop missed as well as any of the new scratches, chips, etc you do. This way when you return to the paint shop for those touch-ups you'll remember exactly where they all are. Hopefully there aren't many!
The very first day we had our car back in the garage someone walked by the rear quarter with the underdash wiper arm assembly swinging and put an 8" scratch along side the car! I was out for coffee at the time and it was the first thing I noticed when I walked back in. Go figure! I simply sighed, passed out coffee and got back to work since I already knew it would happen at some point.. just didn't figure it would be the very first day!
We also had a few small chips while installing repo rear quarter windows that fit like crap. After screwing around with these for a full day we ripped them out and I sent the originals out to be re-chromed.
The guys at the paint shop I used are excellent and can blow in these repairs making it look so easy it makes your head hurt. Doesn't matter how hard you look, and I've looked many times very hard, you cant see any of these repairs so I'm very happy.
So again.. when you, your wife or your buddy does scratch and/or chip the paint, take it in stride and feel better that you knew it was going to happen.
