That's exactly how I feel. I'd like my mustang to be unique, not like everyone's mustang.

I don't think its as much a question of restoring to original as it is making the claim its a high-po engine. It's like going to a bar with a sock stuffed in your pants. I think its a totally punk move.

And yes I TOTALLY agree, do what you want its YOUR car. Go for the style YOU like!!!! However, the op did ask for an opinion (see first word in thread title)

Other than the body, there is not much stock left in my car. Purist I'm not. Holy crap, it just dawned on me, there really isn't anything stock left in my car. I think I just got a little depressed over what I did to the car.

I think it's a good thing, mainly cause I would be doing the same thing could I afford it.

So...your sayin I should take out the sock?

There isnt a single badge or letter on the outside of my car. The way I figure it anyone who's opinion matters will know its a Mustang, they'll know its a 67 and one look at the engine and they'll know what there looking at.

Anyone else would look at the badge and have no clue what the "High Performance" actually ment anyway.

Don't sweat the signage...

I think it's alright if you do that, just don't be telling people that it is a "HiPo" when they ask you if it really is, if you only have a "C" code in there. (yes, I have seen that).

Amen, Brother ! Plus the sticker does not say "Hi Po", it says "High Performance" - which a lot of motors are when they are warmed over !

I agree, these cars are fun and should be fun. I guess I get kind of tired of people trying to tell me how my car should be done. Everything does not have to be councours like it just rolled off the assembly line. If my plain jane car came with a plain jane black interior and I want to put a deluxe interior in it, and if I want to put fog lights in the grill, and put a dual exhaust on it when it came with a single exhaust and put a sticker on the air cleaner that says "289 High Performance" I shouldn't have to hear why it's not correct. It's my freakin' car. And no, I'm not trying to sell it or represent it as a venerable "K -Code".

It's easy enough to take you at your word with respect to selling it.

But where representing is concerned, it gets a little tougher, since that only needs for people to see the sticker and what's underneath it. It needs to be honest about what it's saying about what it's stuck to. You might get away with it on a clean 4-barrel engine that at least sounded a little more serious than on a semi-greasy pure stock engine with a cheap muffler. I would probably let it go if you put one on the air cleaner to a healthy throttle-body-EFI'd motor. But expect to get laughed at for putting it on a 2-barrel carb's air cleaner or on the multiport EFI manifolding from a Fox-body 5.0.

I guess I'll never understand what the appeal is in advertising what isn't there, or in this case if the original option content isn't there that the state of engine tune (engine "character") and performance isn't there either. Bluffing at poker only works once in a while, and you don't want to become known for doing that too much either.
