Ever ask him about any issues?

I don't see how he is a liar if he never told you and you never asked. It really comes back to you then if you didn't ask.

Yeah I remember trying to help him with the charging system. Im pretty sure the PO just slapped that crap in there and said "there I fixed it" I'll almost bet some of the charging system wires aren't even hooked to anything or to the wrong thing.

Bet bet maybe to redo the whole charging circuit from the ignition forward.

Of course I asked. But when he makes a statement like "I daily drive to work every day with no problems" but in reality he was putting the battery on charge every night cause the charging system is fouled up. I call that a LIE

Ya I'm going to get a manual for it and completely rewire it.

It might be that any deliberate deception is a lie.

What Part # of the Painless kit is in there? I installed one of their universal kits into my 66 and created my own wiring schematic that replicates the factory wiring diagrams, only difference is I used the Painless wiring colors. Email me at cwo.smith@gmail.com and I'll gladly send you a copy. They might be of some help. Good luck!

You have mail and thanks again to everyone for the help and support. I don't mind putting work into this car it's just I didn't expect this problem & tracing wires is a pain.

For my 69 I was able to pick up a wire harness for the ALT that had the factory connectors to the regulator and such. Isn't there a harness for the 66?
