Will a dash pad from a 66 fastback with pony interior fit a 65 coupe with a standard interior? I thought it would fit but im not sure, so thats why im asking your help. Any information would be really helpful.
I always liked the 66 pads better. However, many enthusiasts may point out the incorrect pad for the car. I couldn't stand to hear that more than once.
i was just asking because i can get one for $75 im my home town... It looks good and wasnt sure it would work... No matter what you get these days you are going to have to drill holes and make it fit right...

NO, that's not what I meant. The 66 pad requires holes in the dash metal that will ruin it, or at least require re-welding if you ever get the right pad. And the appearance of the two pads is quite different, small children could tell you had the wrong pad. And if you get the right pad, you don't have to drill any holes.
A new pad will cost you about $125, and a good one about $100 more than that.
I prefer the more expensive one, the fit and finish is worth the difference, but you'll always be sorry if you use the wrong pad, even if you get the cheaper one you'll be better off.
