Default Oil pressure sensor

Hi friends,

My oil pressure sensor is dead, what is the exact part I need to get? It's a 67 with a 289.

Thanks!

Hi Remi,

you can very easily check if it's the sensor:
switch ignition on and disconnect the cable at sensor (and make sure it doesn't touch anywhere), gauge should go to one side.
Then touch the cable from sensor directly to ground (header, block, etc) the gauge should go the opposite side.

the way the sensor works is just with the presure increasing it reduces the resistance to ground. huge pressure, low resistance and the gauge peeks. if you attach it directly to ground the gauge goes as far as it will ever do. hope it makes sense

then it's 100% sensor faulty, or you have no oil in there ;-)

Can the temp gauge be tested the same way?
