Default Classic mustang engine help

i had recently bought a 1966 ford mustang coupe and im having the hardest time with the engine. the carburator is to tall and im sure its not the original and the intake manifold doesnt fit with a 1966 mustang carb spacer. these are the numbers i found on the car. i wanna rebuild the engine but i need to buy the right parts so if anyone can help me to would be great.

intake manifold: C9DE-6090-M

on the engine it says: D8BE-6015 - GC

thanks for the help

Small wonder it doesn't fit. You have a 69-coded head on a 78-coded cylinder block. If machine work on the spacer will allolw it to be installed, do it. The carb used in 66 was far superior to the later carb.
