None. The factory under-dash wiring harness has a resistance wire built in.

im not putting the factory harness in. so thats why i ask, otherwise yea i know its already built in. what voltage does the coil need to see while running and what resistors do i need to just make my own or would that not work.

Any good auto parts tech should be able to find you a resistor that will work. Most places should have one on the shelf. I don't have any books at home or I'd give you a part #.

IIRC, about 7V. During start, the resistor should be bypassed to provide 12V. Do you have a Factory Service Manual?

Very carefully remove each page, and gently line your mulch pile with them while the Factory Manual is coming in the mail. The FSM is that much better.

LOL Funny, but true. Get the FSM. It's worth every penny, and more.
