Default Picture of the E-Brake setup on a 67

Trying to get my 67 inspected and on the road. It didn't come with any of the parking brake hardware except the cables. Its different than the 66 and earlier.

I have a book on the way but it terrible doesn't give me any details on how it's put together. (I'm in the market for a better book).

I was wondering if anyone could post a picture of how the hand brake cable is connected to the brake equalizer and how the cable connector is installed?

Seems like there should be an idler where the front cable comes through the frame support. Heres my ruddy drawing. It's if you were laying on your back and looking up at the car under the drivers side. This is all drawn from my imagination and looking at what's still on the car, so it might be way off.

The previous owner replaced sections of the floor, so I might be missing some brackets. Could anyone tell me if I am heading in the right direction?

Also, I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I would like a book that has the diagrams for things like the parking brake, dash assembly, window track..etc.

Thanks in advance.

You are actually missing two brackets.

Aw crap. I just checked, and yes, my Idler bracket went with the old floors. I will have to get a new bracket when I put in the replacement floors. The PO replaced the floor with flat sheet screwed down with self tappers. I am going to replace the floors soon, just wanted to drive it a little before that happened. Damn TX requires a safety inspection.

Everything else is solid.

Hey CogTX, is there any fun mustang get togethers? I'm in San Antonio.

Thanks guys, you rule.

I'll keep you posted if any stang events are happening around this area...I haven't been involved with any mustang events/groups in a few years. Just getting back into working on my son's 67 coupe now so thought I'd make a return appearance to this forum since the people here are typically the best to get advice from compared to others.

I feel ya on the atmosphere of this forum. I am on a couple other boards and, while you will always get some jerks, this one seems genuinely helpful.

Thanks again for the scans.
