Default Shock tower braces

I thought this was interesting. Looking at the inner fenders on others cars I realized mine had additional braces in the shock tower. I have owned the car for over 20 years and I serious doubt the PO did it, since they did not do anything else structurally or otherwise to the car.
Not sure how much additional support they provide, what do you guys think?

That is interesting, I guess somebody thought that there was some flex issues in hard cornering. Also looks like they trimmed the top of the frame rail under the shock tower? If they were worried about flexing then why would they cut in to the frame rail?

Both sides have that little dip/drop on the frame rail, but does not look cut or ground when looking with the naked eye. I serious doubt a dealer did it, but maybe some mechanic when doing brakes or tires suggested it to make a few extra bucks. It is just interesting knowing that the PO really did not do anything else to the car, and they do that.

I never seen those and they probably don't do anything really. The only bracing i ever seen done was the boss had a piece of metal filling in the cup where the shock tower and frame rail meet. And the big block cars had metal wrapped over the lower part of the shock tower on the inside.

I wonder if that is a convertible thing.

Shock tower cracking has not been an issue for 65-66. Those rods were added by someone.
