Default No Brake Lights

Well, two days ago I reported on another thread entitled "No Brake Lights and No Turn Signals" that I now had both back in operation but today I again have NO brake lights. The turn signals are fine and only needed a new flasher unit which I bought and installed.

The brake lights had for some reason began working on their own without me doing anything, that I know of except I did a lot of testing of wiring, etc. Then today I discovered the brake lights were gone again. I have examined all the wiring again today and wiggled them around a lot since I suspected a loose wire. Still nothing.

Based on some testing procedures of wiring that KMatch led me thru on this forum last week I again today tested the wiring he suggested and found the following:

1. The Green/Red brake light switch wire tests "hot"
The Green brake light switch wire does NOT test hot.

2. Of the two wires of Orange/Blue and Green/Orange coming down the steering
column into a two-way connector, only the Orange/Blue wire tests hot - the
Green/Orange does NOT.

3. The Green wire in the 6 way connector coming down the steering column is NOT
hot - going in nor coming out of the connector.

4. The Blue wire in the 6 way connector shows hot and flashes with T/S on, both in and out of the connector.

With this latest info I'm hoping you will be able to tell me what my problem is or what else to test. I also checked all the fuses and they are OK.

Thank you for your help.

If the parking lights and the blinkers work, check the operation of the brake light switch mounted on the pedal assembly.

That's the first thing I checked yesterday and as reported the Green/Red wire into the Brake Light Switch checks "hot" but the Green only wire does not. Three days ago when my brake lights were working both these wires tested "hot'.
All other electrical items on the car operate OK - All lights, switches, indicators, etc.

Thank's for your suggestion.
