Fuel Pump
Curious question here, I am trying to rule out possible issue's with my rough running engine and wondering if the fuel pump canister on the 200 c.i. should be on top of the pump or on the bottom. Previous owner had fuel pump installed but from all the parts online it looks as thou the canister for the filter is on the bottom of the fuel pump, is this correct? Can the pump be installed upside down? Not sure, just looking for some answers.
I am not an inline expert by any means, but I don't think a fuel pump can be put on a 200 upside down. The follower (arm) on the pump can only ride one way.
I have seen several pumps with different orientations.
I doubt that the issue is with the fuel pump, but none the less I bet these guys can help.... http://fordsix.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=57

i had a 289 with stock fuel pump and the canister (looks like an oilfilter) has to point down as in your car. check the other thread you posted, your issue might be unrelated to pump. i assume vaporisation, especially since you have this problem only hot
