Pooty, lots of people have complained about ride height with M+'s standard-eye "stock ride height" leaf springs. That doesn't look like stock ride height to me.

iirc stock ride height on 65/66 is 26" measured in the center of the wheel arch

Maybe the back will settle with more miles, I do think that is not stock height like others have said. But if you like the look that what matters.

Default Spring compressor

I have done 4 spring replacements - and just taught myself how to use one, along with some tips in the online forums. I just check out the tool from Pep Boys or Part Plus - have never bought a compressor.

The ones that work best for me are the ones that grip from the inside. I have used the external gripping ones 2x, and find it difficult to adjust with enough "bite" before the threads hit the top of the shock tower.

One piece of advice that I have found helps is to remove the sheet metal cover inside the wheel well. Taking this cover out gives you more room to work and you don't have to compress the spring as tight to get it back in.

If you go back with shortened coils there is not much compressing required - it is easy to get them in.

I suggest you give it a try - it isn't that difficult.

Your car looks great - nice work.

I suggest you check into CSRP disc brake conversions. I just put a set on my car and the kit was complete, high quality and a quick install.

nba read this http://home.bresnan.net/~dazed/spring and there is a guy on ebay who makes the one described by daze. I used a claw type and was very careful and I need to make a spacer and cut the bolt in the centre so as not bottom out on the upper arm/perch
