not real familiar with the AOD but i bet they are all the same.

Remove the drive shaft

use bucket to catch all the oil that comes out

use thin blade something to pry out oil seal

Use socket to tap new oil seal in

replace DS

Replace fluid.

I bet thats how it goes.

Gun Jam is right!!! Don't forget to check the slip yoke too. I have seen some that the bad seal has ground a groove into the slip yoke and that was also part of the prob.

Could this have just gotten old, or could it be a problem with too much torque or horsepower over time. I was going about 80 for an hour, first road drive in awhile, otherwise just in town.

Use a seal driver or large socket to drive it on evenly.

replace the slip yoke and the trans seal again.

But before you do check for play...does the slip yoke move up and down, left and right quite a bit when you push on it? Did you notice any burs or rough spots on the slip yoke where it touches that oil seal?

Are you sure you didnt damage the oil seal when installing it?

IF: There is little or no play in the slipyoke where goes into the trans
AND you know the slipyoke is fine and not roughed up
AND you are sure the oil seal is not damaged

THEN: its not leaking from the tailshaft oil seal...perhaps its running down the top of the trans and simply dripping off the end of the tail housing...

Let me know what you think about those ideas.
