67 rear end
I picked up a 67 inline 6 coupe about a week ago. lookin at converting it to a 5 lug disc brake. found a 9" rearend out of a 74 Lincoln. Will this fit or what are some other cars that have rearends that will fit.

Ya don't need a 5-bolt pattern to install disc brakes, ya know.

What type of Lincoln, is it a Versailles? A 9 inch is way overkill for an I6 car. An 8 inch is a good upgrade though. I would not put a 9 inch in a 6 cylinder car, it is just more weight for the car to pull around and its already low on power.

lookin to put a v8 in it down the road, cause i dont want to put to many miles on the orignal engine. but i do want a 5 lug and disc brakes so i might as well get a good rearend to finish it off.
The rearend is out of a Lincoln Contenintal or however u spell it.

I've seen 67 mustang 8 inch rear ends for cheap on craigs list, etc.
Be sure to measure spring perches and axle width.
Rebuilt 8 inch should last for years on a mustang with most SBF engines.
I have been running 8 inch on my 365 HP 351W 67 for years.
I installed 8 inch w/o rebuilding around 1998.
In about 2007 it started coming apart.
I found rust inside 8 inch.
I am blaming the rust for 8 inch failure???
I guess I will know in a few years if 8 inch is durable in 351W application.
I have been running 8 inch in 289 for decades w/o problem.
