No pics but if I remember correctly the mounting plate is on the driver side with the big flat portion pointing up and leaning towards the center of the car. The compressor is bolted on top of it. Dryer goes on the driver apron near the rad support or maybe out front of rad support. Hoses run along driver valve cover and there should be a knockout in the firewall shaped like a short bratwurst.

Here ya go. Pix of our '66 in original form, and with the newer style pump, as well as a belt diagram.

If you need more specific pix of anything, pm me and I'll run out to the garage and take the pix.

this is becoming a PITA. so i assume from the diagram that there is an idler pully on the a/c belt?

I do have power steering also. i think i am going to have to fab my own bracket. the compressor i have is not a factory unit. it is the gm model.

Yep, there is an idler pulley and bracket. Here's a pix.

my set up is a little different. How will it perform if i am not using the idler pully and running the a/c compressor off the same belt as the power steering and using the adjustment of the power steering pump as the tension.

Another issue. I am running the new compressor and a MSD dizzzy. my monte carlo bar is in the way.
I see that i probably need to use a straight bar but then it will hit my dizzy. Anyone know of any solutions?

See the attached pix for where my lines go through the firewall. There should be a knockout there already.

For the Monte Carlo bar issue, take a look at my pix in post #3. You will probably need to change your distributor.

I'm running an Accel Billetproof distributor with electronic ignition along with a straight Monte Carlo bar, and everything fits.
