Default Fuel Pumps and Cooling issues

I have a 67 Fastback with a 351C... 3 speed auto

Having searched the forums a bit I wanted to ask about fuel pumps. Should I install an electronic fuel pump or simply stay with the original mechanical pump. I don't have any fuel issues, just curious if the electronic pump will be better for my car.

Also, my car runs a bit hot, especially in the summer time here in Texas. I have installed a larger capacity aluminum radiator (3 core) and it runs better but was wondering if adding an electric fan would assist in the cooling. I have added a better flex fan, shroud and radiator but would like it to run a bit cooler at idle, expecially at longer red lights.

You might need an electric pump if you were racing the car. Not on the street.

The 351C had a unique thermostat setup. If you have a non-Cleveland thermostat, or if the ring below it is missing, it'll overheat.

IMO run an electric pump if you don't have a choice, otherwise stay mechanical.

Assuming you have the right thermostat, you might run an extra fan, and it MIGHT help, but chances are to really improve things, even a bigger radiator may be needed.

Mid 60s Fords are tough to cool, big engines, small radiator area.....

I've heard that the taurus electrical fan could be a good conversion.

I can not state of the thermostat is a cleveland... but could you explain a little more about the "ring". If I get a cleveland thermostat will that "ring" be included or is that an extra piece I need to ask for. I am pretty sure that I simply asked for a 185 degree thermostat to fit my car with no specific designation for cleveland. Thanks for your help.

The modern mech pumps can delver enough fuel to feed something like a 700 Hp engine...So if you are under 700 hp stay mechanical and save trouble.
