67 mustang interior paint
I'm restoring my 1967 mustang it's Lime gold with a black interior, ( YES, I'M KEEPING IT LIME GOLD). My question is : I noticed the dash was originally painted a metallic black, But what about the doors and quarter trim? Are the doors and quarter trim metallic black too or was that for the dash only? What is the correct paint? Thanks for any help
Metallic black is not original. I'm told Krylon 1613 black is the original color. I've heard it has been discontinued, but still available according to my Google search. I've seen it described as semi-gloss, satin and semi-flat depending on what forum posting you read. I know Mustangs Unlimited offers a DuPont alternative.
The dash, doors and quarter trim where all this color although some people prefer the doors the same as the exterior color (though not original).
btw... My '68 coupe is Lime Gold as well.

I'm very sure the dash Is Metallic black. I've owned two other 67 mustangs with black interiors, and all of them had metallic black dashes, but I cant remember what the door trim and quarter trim was painted. But from your answer and thoughts, I'm believing the door and quarter trim was a regular semi-gloss black and the metallic was only for the dash. I hope someone can confrim my thoughts.
