Vacuum on 302 Engine
I recnetly rebuilt my 302( only 25 miles on it). I checked the vacuum yesturday and it was at 10 which i thought it was supposed to be at 20. I checked it out of the fitting in the back of the manifold that the tranny connects to which could be why it was low. I dont know where to connect the vacuum gauge though if its somewhere else. Any Ideas
its a pretty steady 10lbs.....the cam is a sealed pro CS108R is number. I have edelbrock air gap manifold and edelbrock rpm heads. The compression im not 100 percent on but id say 9.5 the bottom end is rebuilt and stock. I have messed with timing and carb tuning and it still reads 10 so idk if my engine needs to break in more or whats up. I didnt torque my carb to 60 to 80 pounds but i feel thats way to much torque for that carb.
What's the ignition timing at while idling? A setup like that would be lucky to make 15" at idle. Chances are with some timing and idle mixture changes you could get to your ideal idle and see like 13-14" at idle.
