Heidts MII Crossmember....lowest price?
My daughters birthday is coming up, and I am shopping for the Heidts Mustang II Crossmember for her `67 Project.
I have seen the Crossmember for $379.
Does anyone know of a source to get it for less?

Do you need to replace one? The crossmember itself probably won't do you much good. You need the whole kit to make it work. Are you planning to re-use old Mustang II a-arms and other parts?
I bought my kit from Tim's Hot Rods (ibuildm on ebay). It was the best price I could find.

I am starting with the crossmember...
I know I still need EVERYTHING else...but the Crossmember is the SINGLE most expensive part...she will be buying the tubular Upper and Lowers, spindles, springs and shocks, albeit one at a time.......But I need to get the crossmember first.....besides, doesn't EVERY 14 year old girl want expensive car parts for her birthday!!!...LOL

I bought my complete kit for about $1800. I would guess buying it a part at a time will cost quite a bit more.
I personally wouldn't buy a Heidts kit again. Too much trouble with them (Heidts). I'd look at TCI or Rod and Custom.

Here's the place to go if you're going to put the Mustang II on. $279 for the kit isn't bad.

If you decide to go with the Heidts and piece it together, I have a set of 275# springs and a set of 300# springs. I'd sell either set for $25 plus shipping (to cover my trouble). They are both settled out, just too light for my car. Would work for a small block. They each have about 5000 miles on them. They probably fit other M2 front ends. They are made by 'Blue Spring' which probably supplies them to everyone.

The 275# is probably about what you need (I'd guess). It was too light for the aluminum 4.6 in my car. I think they recommend 300# for small block Fords. You could call the manufacturer for their recommendations.
