Default strut rod removal

Hey guys, just wondering if theres a secret to getting the big bastard nuts off the strut rods on the front end, other than i guess heat which will obviously ruin the bushings, (and a 1 1/8 deep socket, i only have shallow ones )
Pretty sure its called a strut rod, its the one that goes from the lower control arm to the angled frame thats attached to the rad support.
thanks
Nick

Spray liberally with PB Blaster or another good penetrating lube (WD 40 is not a penetrating lube). And a deep socket

Jack the car up high enough to use a long breaker bar. Use plenty of PB Blaster. Don't expect to totally remove the nut while the car is jacked up because the rod is under great tension at this point, unless the lca is also jacked up to level it out.

I completely stripped my '68 coupe for restoration and I used a ton of penetrant oil. On the strut rods, I used a little heat and penetrant oil but left the strut rod attached to the lower control arm and alternated between an impact air gun and a substantial breaker bar. After patience I broke both sides loose. Good luck.

I had to use a Sawsall and replaced them with adjustables.
