Default Coating Aluminum Engine Parts ?

OK, so I'm putting new valve covers (raw aluminum), and new intake (raw aluminum), and a new oil pan (raw aluminum) on my 289 rebuilt engine.

Question is, should I coat these pieces with a clear coating product like Shark Hide or some other paint-on or spray-on product to keep them oil-free and from tarnishing ?

Please advise ! Thanks.

You could spray paint them with 500 degree engine paint, or powder coat them. Powder coating leaves a great finish and better protection, IF you do it right. Plus its not too expensive to get into...

powdercoating isnt as durable as everybody thinks.I had my manifold coated, gas will stain it and coolant will eat through it.

That's odd, I wasn't even aware coolant had those sort of chemical properties. I'd certainly think it more durable than a paint. Short of anodizing, I'm not sure what else you'd choose from to protect engine parts...
What color and finish did you have them coated in? And by a shop, correct?
