well congratulations. for the driveshaft length, when she's standing on wheels and you disconnect at rear you should be able to push it forward by about 3/4" to 1" I think that'll be perfect. no vibrations when driving 80mph on jackstands. thats good news.

all the best and keep us updated! make sure you have all fluids topped up

I have a full 1", so I think I'm good.

Like a numb-nuts, I didn't video the initial drive. It's rained like helll today, but I'm gonna get a vid of the (one-wheel) peel soon and will post it on here. Besides, I need to send something to my prior work mates so that they see I've made some progress.....

Thanks to alll for y'alls advice, even though I obtained it without even knowing what questions to ask. I love this forum, its been a godsend to me.

Special thanks to kalle, 2+2 and others that I don't remember now, their contributions are no less significant, but I can't remember the names right now. I apologize for forgetting names.

I'm ready for paint now, even though I can't afford it. And I have the full interior ready to go in. If my interviews in the next week go well, I hope to have a completed car in my sig ...... Keep your fingers crossed for me, if you're so inclined ......

When we took ours out for the first drive since the new engine, we got thumbs up from some kids saying "cool car". That was awesome. They were probably about 12 years old.

I'm glad your car is coming together. I look forward to seeing it all shiny. What color are you going with?

I'm thinking silver, maybe with black stripes.

But when I say I'm ready for paint, I mean I'm ready to start the body work, not that spraying will happen anytime soon.

I like the idea of silver. I really like silver frost. I agree with Kalli though. If you want stripes on a coupe do the GT stripes on the sides. I prefer no stripes with rocker molding. I like the subtle look.

None of the paint plans are carved in stone yet, but my wife has seen 2 '66 coupes in her parking garage, one black with silver stripes, the other silver with black stripes. They both look awesome to me. I'm not a big fan of the rocker stripes, I have the rocker trim and prefer to go with that. Any opinions are welcome.

I've got a cool video that I'd like to post, will someone please tell me how to do it so I don't have to search the archives? I never seem to be able to find anything with a search ....
