Bingo strut rods were completely loose!! alignment shop must of left them loose. Im going to make a set Like Dazecars cuz the ones I have are stock. I wont be able to test drive it till I get back from Colorado on mon. Plus my pro-systems carb came in so Ill be side tracked with that too.

Strut rods are original...only the bushing are new. what would be a strut rod problem?
If strut rod is loose the car will drive erratic.

Most alignment shops will check alignment for free for a time. If DIY alignment then must be level, slippery turn table, etc.

What is your caster spec?
Too little caster will prevent car from returning to center reliably.

What is your toe in spec?
A little toe also helps return to center.

Why is your camber so extreme as to wear the tires?

Is there a residual pressure valve in disc circuit?

No unusual suspension noise to indicate loose part?

Alright I'm glad you found the likely problem child. Getting those tight and perhaps an alignment recheck should solve the issue!
At least its and easy fix.

That'll do it. The lca's basically flop around all over the place without the strut rods holding them in place.

EZ,

Crazy isn't it? Same exact thing just happened to me...drove me nuts for about 4 months and 500 miles...loose strut rods... I wish I knew a reliable, honest affordable old school shop to bring my car to when I can't do the work myself :/ It sucks having to do thing several times before getting them right and/or correcting a shops mistakes.

Has the front end been aligned properly for the UCA drop?
You mentioned all the steering components have been replaced but not the suspension components. I will assume the drop was done recently and the UCA's are in good shape. The next thing to look at would be the strut rods and the lower control arms. More than likely you have a strut rod problem if all other items are done correctly.

A 16:1 manual box may be tough for the wife, unless she is a body builder.
Well crap, there it goes. The one time in my life I was right and it wasn't an argument with the old lady.

Before you spend a lotta cash, remember Shelby raced these cars with the stock setup. Didn't prevent them from dominating SCCA B Production, and should certainly be OK for the street. Whatever you do, DON"T use urethane bushings on the struts,
