Bondo not drying...
You may not be able to get pin holes in rage evercoat but I sure can.
I've had less pin hole issues w/ bondo.
Bondo will last well over a decade.
The old one stage puttys will shrink and I wouldn't use them.
Bondo is harder to sand than rage evercoat but may be more durable; time will tell.
I think bondo got a bad rap because yahoos used to pile it on 1" thick over rusty panels.

I got curious about comments saying bondo holds water like a sponge....swelling...shrinking.
Bondo specifications according to 3M:
% water absorption < 0.3%
% shrinkage < 0.5%

Based on those numbers it does not appear to be a problem.
But then again I have always been told to never let a bondo repair sit in in weather with out a topcoat on it
I based the statement on what I read on hotrodders paint forum. It was stated to never wet sand over bondo because it will absorb the water.

In this day and age I'm surprised that manufactures, on the automotive side of things, haven't moved to vinylester or epoxy based fillers. Both are completely waterproof and provide much better adhesion. In the marine industry both are common.
i went and checked out the Rage stuff... is it really worth the price? 4 times more then bondo for the same amount. anyway i got it fixed right. hopefully ill be painting sometime this week. any comments on paint setup? im decideing between the original ivy gold that matches the interior, black, or possibly red. im probably gonna use my dads 4 car garage to paint it has a ceiling window so ill take it out and stick a fan for ventilation, going to make kind of a cube of plastic so i dont have to heat the whole garage (going to be anywhere from 50-60F) would i need a primer if no metal is exposed? any suggs on the brand/type of paint?
Whatever you do for a booth, watch out for extreme vapor build up.

When any filler is used over bare metal I get concerned when metal starts to flash rust near feather edge.
I have washed bondo over bare metal w/ water based cleaners many times.
Many body shops love other fillers because they can sand them faster; but bondo does not take that much longer to sand.
I just checked a metal patch bondo paint repair I made in the 90's; repair is still straight as an arrow. Hope my evercoat rage repairs last that long.
