Default Speedo Gear

I've somehow managed to lose my speedo gear. I've pulled the tail shaft from the tranny housing and counted 9 teeth. According to the data plate, my axle ratio is 2.8:1. Rear tire height appears to be 24.25" (215/60r15). I've checked a calculator online and came up with 15. I assume this means I need a 16 tooth type 3 (C4). But I don't know what the color references are. Is this for the tooth angle? How would I need to determine the correct color?

Here is a shot of the driven gear.

You did way too much work. In future, pull the cable, put a dab of white grease on the gear, and turn the driveshaft, counting the teeth until you get back to the dab.

You photo shows the drive gear.

I keep coming up with - you need a 21T gear.
