When i worked at TMS, the first major project i had to do was replace floor pans.. if you can find a scott drake dealer in your area you can get some for fairly cheap. you can either order them by singles, or an entire one piece floor. If someone such as myself can replace these then you too can do it.

-First you need a new floor pan
-remove the carpet
-get a cut off wheel, and make a rough cut, to cut the pan out
-then make a fine cut
-then you need to take an angle grinder and make all of the edges smooth and shiny both top and bottom
-then stick the floor pan in there, have someone sit on it or stand on it while its in the hole and take a sharpie and go under the car and outline it
-take some 1 inch painters tape and tape around the line you just cut, so that you have an inch extra of sheet metal.
-stick the pan back in the hole, and take vise grips and clamp it to the pinch weld and take self tappers and fasten the pan in
-once again, go underneath and trace with a sharpie
-make your final fine cut
-take your angle grinder and clean the edges up nicely
-you need a sheet metal hole puncher, punch holes about every 3 inches for spot welds
-re-fasten and clamp the pan in
-start making your spot welds and take the screws out as you go
-once your done, take cocking and put it around your welds both top and bottom
-paint the top side satin black
-spray some raptor liner or rubberized undercoating on the bottom
-put your carpet and seats back in.

yah...at this point, i should just break all the factory welds and replace the front and rear pans on both passenger and driver side. Are Floor pans 19-20 ga steel?

The Mustang Plus ones are $50 for each full side

Hello, welcome to owning a Mustang... or should I say Rustang. I'm allowed to say that because I think I own the rustiest mustang in Ohio. Or I guess now I can say "owned," (since she finally is rust free!). I see some people referred my thread, it will show you exactly what to do with replacing floor pans. Having said that, if we had to do it over again we would have used a one piece floor pan. It surely would have saved us A LOT of time and work, I mean A LOT . It's tempting to buy the replacement sections because they are cheaper. The price saving in reality is small compared to the ease of installation and time saving of using the once piece floor. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions along the way.

seriously, go with the one piece. Cutting each pan is tricky, because they're a "one piece fits all" type application so they're never perfect. Rather than trying to fit four pans, you're only trying to fit one.

Quick question NoReins, did you use 0.030-in wire for floor pans?

Yes, either that or .035 will be fine.

yah, i've been considering the entire piece too, but a neighbor said buying the front to back pieces would be ok since my center pans are still decent. I wont be fitting 4 pans one at a time, but 2 longer pieces instead.

I haven't been getting much "physical" help with this project, and budget is a factor.... so i'm considering going this route...

What do you mean by center pans? Do you mean the pans beneath the seat risers?

sorry, yah. I meant the seat risers and the area right above the tunnel.

But as im looking at this closer, it's just as big of a pain to replace even 2 sections of the floor and still have to grind / clean the other areas VS. replacing it as a whole piece.

And mustang plus is having a sale, i think it's a sign.... I can actually drive out to Stockton, CA and pick it up with my truck rather than them ship it freight. I might just do this.

I just got a reciprocating saw from a black friday sale...maybe this is the time to use it.

I also vote for the one piece front floor. I already have the two piece ones and I'm regreting it, as I look at how much more work it adds to installing new floors.
