Default 73 conv leaf spring issue

I just installed new leaf springs on my 73 conv. The install was surprisingly easy. I did not install new shocks...yet.

My question is when I put the car back on the ground, the passenger side sits higher then drivers side. If I grab the wheel well on the drivers side and pull up, it sits even, but once i get back in the car, the drivers side lowers about 1- 1.5 inches and will not raise unless I pull up on the wheel well.

Do I need new shocks or is it something else?

Thanks!

When you tightened up the shackles and perch mounts, was the weight on or off the car? Were both sides tightened with the same weight applied? Rubber bushings will hold tension in whatever position they were tightened in and will even tear out if tightened with the weight off as they will be in constant torque when weight is applied. Just one thing to check...

I agree, I learned this one the hard way.

They were tightened with the weight off the car. I am guessing I should go back and adjust with weight on the springs?

Yep, put the car on the ground loose then torque everything down.
