Default Spindle ID help

Hi everyone,

I'm a "new kid on the block" and am trying to ID some spindles which I'm hoping are from a Granada. The numbers I can find are: 362 with a Ford Logo and 4A8AA. Hope someone can help. Thanks

How about a photo?

And if you have a 64-66, you might want to consider a better choice than Granada spindles.

For your best interests, Hopefully you did not get Granada.

Show numbers, or pictures, we'll try to help.

Holly Mercy--Please explain this.

Forgive me, I believe i'm in a learning curve here.

Explain to the folks watching your determination of the Fit.--Of course it had to be by the numbers presented in the first post--Correct??

If not, please correct me,

Googled 4A8AA, only thing I could find was 62 Mercury Monterey. Is it not the spindle for that car?

I don't have access to the parts books you do, can you tell us what the spindle is off ? I just a geek sitting behind a keyboard

So------- I guess my understanding that Granada spindles were the "ones" to get was wrong. Could you fill me in why and what models would be the better. Thanks

Fine for what? What do you want to do?

Are you wanting to convert to disc brakes? If you have a v8 car then the spindles you have will be fine. If you have a I6 car that you want to keep a I6, your spindles are fine. You can get a conversion with your stock spindles here http://www.chockostangclassicmustang.com/

If you have a I6 car you're converting to a v8 you need the v8 spindles. You may or may not be able to find v8 spindles, but I do know where there are a pair of v8 spindles out of a 66 that have just been magnafluxed that are cheap.

I wouldn't say Granada spindles are wrong, just that is absolutely no reason to change your mustang spindles if you want to convert to disc brakes. From what I've been reading, there are problems (bump steer due to the steering geometry being different)

just google mustang granada spindle problem

guess I should put my flame suit on, this topic seems to be a hot one

Very good, accurate explaination. If a 6 cylinder, yes the desired way is with the C5DA Spindles, then bolt on the K/H 4 Piston as Ford did in 65 66 and in 67 with the C6OA spindle--Same spindle, but 1/2" longer on the steering arm.

OH! by the way no books used, I do this by memory. Old Man typing with on finger.

Well 10 or 15 years ago granada spindles was your only luck or used mustang spindles. But today we learned about bump steer and tcp remakes the 70-73 disc spindles now.My 68 I'm running the 70-73 drum spindles because how thick the spindles are.
