Default hoods

is there a difference in 65-68 2 door coupe hoods? mine seems to be like 1 inch longer then the front headlights area and the bucket trim hood is in super shape i dont want to change it if not maybe they got the wrong headlight buckets ect installed instead ??

yes, the 65-66 are the same, and the 67-68 are the same, but the pairs are different from each other.

so if im not mistaken the 67-68 hoods are longer correct? by 1/2-1 inch or am im missing something lol either way looks like im buyn new hood and headlight buckets are cracked and broken anyways ill get a pic up in the morning wife wants me to relax and stop thinking bout the stang while shes home lol, and can anybody lay the 2 peice carpet or should i take it in i looked at it today and it dont look to hard lol, im up for the challendge of course

What is your problem? Are you saying your hood is too short? Because that shouldn't be the case with either hoods since you've got a '65.

As for the carpet, do it yourself.

no hood is longer then the front headlights just by 1/2 -1 inch

How about a photo? I doubt you have a 67 hood on there, that'd be too long and too wide.

Yeah a pic would help. If you are buying new headlight buckets, just make sure you get one's that are for your '65 and you'll be good.

The carpet is a piece of cake, just make sure it is warm when you install it, it's a lot easier to work with.

I think I have an extra set of original headlight buckets. FYI, nearly all them will have a crack. They are prone to it at a couple of locations.

Funny thing is, the repros are duplicates of original right down to weak points, so they crack in the same places.
