Default fuel pump replacement ?

So I'm going to be replacing my fuel pump and the gas is all drained out. Is there any other fluid that must be drained before I replace this? It bolts into the bottom of the block.

No. You'll be fine.

Just be sure to that lever on the pump is below the cam eccentric. Tip: if you have a tough time getting the pump back in, bump the engine around a tad and try again.

Hehe, that's awesome advice, I was planning on getting a new fuel pump as well. I like people who bump the engine around, someone did that for me when I was putting on belts....I was like thats cool.

I jack front of car or have line plugs handy; have not bothered to drain the gas when replacing pump.
I apply film of lubrication on new pump arm.
When old rubber lines are disturbed they release black debris which will enter carb or filter.
I like to have a filter upstream of pump.
