1966 disc brakes

Thumbs up 1966 disc brakes

I put disc brakes on my 66 coupe. Need to know if brake light switch needs to be changed.

Can't figure why you would think to change brake light switch? Not working?

Brake switch is located on pedal shaft (65-70), disc brakes don't affect it's operation so long as proper rod length maintained.

On 64 1/2, brake light switch is incorporated w/ master cylinder and would need to be delt w/ if OEM mc upgraded.

Reasonable question, 67-73 had a mix of different switches for manual, power drum, and power disc.

On 66 one brake light switch fits all. right?

When we switched over to disc brakes we also changed to a double mc. and power assist.

Smart move. The lousy emergency brake design coupled with the single bowl setup is an invitation for Mayhem.

Did you keep original pedal support bracket and pedal which brake switch is mounted on?

I was just curious if OEM 66 pedal assembly was changed for some reason; stranger things have happened.

If 66 has OEM pedal/support then standard 66 brake light switch should fit all 66 brakes.

I don't recall answer to why post started; problem w/ brake switch not working?
